Uniforms
Uniforms tend to be of 2 varieties. What we call No. 1 Uniform and No. 2 Uniform. Musicians with No. 2 Uniform are much more available than No. 1 Uniform although if you'd like a specific type for your event, just ask us.
A brief guide on Scottish bagpipers uniforms:
No. 2 Uniform
These are the most readily available throughout Scotland and the UK. This uniform is formal yet gives the piper more movement than the full uniform. It's also the uniform more pipe bands are adopting these days.
The uniform consists of:
- Glengarry bonnet
- Shirt, Waistcoat, Jacket & Tie
- Kilt
- Sporran
- Hose
- Brogues
No. 1 Bagpiper Uniform
This is the much more formal uniform and what we often refer to as 'full dress uniform'.
The uniform consists of:
- Feather Bonnet
- Tunic
- Plaid, Crossbelt & Brooch
- Kilt
- Sporran
- Hose
- Brogues
